Class-to-Class Transition

Note: 5-10 minutes before the end of the current class, Lab assistants should monitor the exit of the students in the previous class and hold students in the incoming class in the hall until the transition is complete.

Monitor the exiting class:

-          Make sure students leave in a timely manner to allow the lab to be reset before the incoming class is allowed in the room.

-          Make sure Lab Users are taking all of their belongings (cellphones, wallets, Flash drives, etc.).

-          Please politely ask professors to exit the classroom if they are over their class time.

Restore the Lab to its default state (state it was in before any classes were held) before allowing in the students of the incoming class.

Restoring lab and Light Cleaning (depending on transition time):

-     Turn on ALL COMPUTERS, restart the ones that have been running. (If there is time, restart SSL28)

-     Check for left over garbage or particles on the table and/or floor.

-     Check Printers, making sure there is no pause or on going print job.

-     Make sure the printers are aligned properly and loaded with paper.

Monitor the incoming class:

-     Make sure incoming lab users are not entering lab with food/beverages.

-     Monitor lab until class start time AND the professor shows up, whichever is later!!!
