Walk-in hours are posted on the door and on the lab website http://urban.hunter.cuny.edu/sscl/
During these times students use the lab to complete assignment and to study. Lab assistants are required to monitor the lab and are responsible for the following tasks:
1. Sitting at the instructor’s desk:
- One lab assistant is required to sit at the instructor’s desk and should be ready to answer questions and help students.
- The instructor’s desk is never to be left empty. If the lab assistant needs to leave (break, or end of shift) he/she needs to ask another assistant to monitor the lab.
- Lab assistant should not be distracted while sitting at the instructor’s desk and should be monitoring the lab for food, beverages, loud voices, etc.
2. Lab maintenance:
- If the lab has not been cleaned, lab assistants are required to clean during walk-in hours.
- Printers should be checked for paper.
- Any computer other than 19 through 25 should be turned off if it is not being used.
