Instructions for Paper Rewrites
As per the course syllabus, you may rewrite your paper to earn a better grade. The rewrite grade replaces the original paper grade (unless the new grade is lower, in which case the old one stands). All rewrites are due in class on May 14th (the next-to-last class); no extensions will be given. Please observe the following conditions:
1. You must return the original paper with my comments (or, better yet, a photocopy of the original with my comments). This lets me determine how effectively you have responded to criticisms and suggestions. Note that you are responsible for all writing errors, insufficient citations, etc., even if I missed them on the original paper.
2. Be sure to include full, correct endnote citations using the form employed in Nelson, ed., The Presidency and the Political System, 8th ed. (the "black book").
3. Before you rewrite the paper, review the assignment itself and the paper-writing guidelines (both of which are available on-line on my web page), as well as my comments on the paper itself.
I will make few comments on paper rewrites. You may pick up your papers (originals and rewrites) from the department office beginning on the day the take-home final is due (May 24th). If you have questions about the basis for the grade on the rewrite, I will be glad to discuss it with you.
