Psych 710 and 711 Neuroscience I and II for Ph.D. students

This is a two semester overview of contemporary Neuroscience. The course uses Principles of Neural Science, by Kandel et al. Undergraduates or postgraduates who can demonstrate an ability to follow and absorb two chapters per week may be admitted with instructor permission.

Psych 716 Animal Behavior I for Ph.D. students

This is the first semester of a two semester sequence in animal behavior. Semester I covers mechanisms of behavior, including historical approaches and neuroethological approaches. Qualified undergraduates or postgraduates will be admitted with instructor permission.

Psych 719 Animal Behavior II for Ph.D. students

This course covers higher-level approaches to the study of animal behavior. Particular emphasis is placed on ecological determinants of species-typical behavior, social behaviors, and evolution. Qualified undergraduates or postgraduates will be admitted with instructor permission.

Psych 180 Brain and Behavior

This one hundred level course provides an introduction to brain function. Topics covered include neurotransmission, drugs and behavior, sexual behavior, emotions and mental health, and sensation and perception.
