THE HAITIAN HERITAGE AWARENESS NETWORK (H2AN)
WHO ARE WE?
The Haitian
Heritage Awareness Network (H2AN) is a non-profit organization with the purpose
of promoting the preservation and renovation of Haitian historical sites, monuments,
and landmarks. H2AN was founded in 1996 by a group of Haitian professionals
interested in the protection of Haitian historical heritage. Since its
inception, H2AN has been researching, compiling and disseminating information
not only on Haitian historical sites, but also archaeological and natural
sites.
WHAT WE STAND FOR...
The
Haitian Heritage Awareness Network (H2AN) is committed to the conservation of
Haiti’s inestimable and irreplaceable national heritage by promoting and
supporting the preservation and renovation of historical monuments and
landmarks. H2AN is very much concerned with the impact of such historical
treasures on the communities in which they are located. Toward this end, it is
the organization’s philosophy and policy, and within the organization's goals and objectives,
to encourage active participation of the general public in the development of
conservation policies and procedures, as well as in the planning and execution
of Haiti’s national treasures.
