- Course web sites
I have been using
course web
sites since 1995, first as independent sites, then within the ERes
system (a current
version of ERes [5.6] is now offered by the Hunter library as
an alternative to Bb), and since spring 2001 using the Blackboard
(Bb) system.
All my course web sites are open to guests, but certain
areas of these
course sites are available to enrolled students only for both
copyright and privacy reasons. Unfortunately, the current CUNY Bb
installation makes it a bit cumbersome to visit as a "guest"; it requires a -- one time -- registration at the CUNY Portal as a "visitor" and -- subsequently -- a login to the Portal (see video).
The links below (using semesters
as anchor text) will work only after completing the access process and
keeping the Bb home page open. The course pages open in a new
window/tab. Alternatively, you can use the course search tool
within Bb.
- Introduction
to Research Methods (Soc 240 -- typically each
fall, last --
using a new
"inductive" approach -- in spring
2012; back to the old textbook based approach in fall 2012)
- Social
Statistics (Soc 241 -- typically each spring, last: spring
2012 and again in spring 2013)
- Population
Dynamics (Soc 311 -- last: fall
2011 and again
fall 2012)
- Workshop
in Using Information Technology for Research
(GSR 716 -- last: spring
2011; I ended my participation in the GSR program at this point) -- no
longer publicly available on a Bb server, contact me directly

2004) -- no
longer publicly available on a Bb server, contact me directly
